Our friend, Erin, is a fabulous little lady with the BEST Australian accent ever. I am OBSESSED with this accent, and I could listen to her talk for days. This is why I went completely cuckoo bananas when we were in a place where almost everyone had an Australian accent!
We sat down outside, and after mumbling something about how I had to pee or something, I skedaddled to the ladies room to "pee", when all I really wanted to do was practice my Australian accent so that I could fit in.
Let's throw some shrimp on the barbie, mate....
But like all of my accents, this one went South, literally and figuratively.
...Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit boy! Imma higher than a Georgia pine!
I really need to work on my accents. Australian Fail #1.
After I called it quits with my shenanigans, I sat back down at our table outside, where we ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to start. Erin asked me:
-- Are you a Savvy B girl?
And I responded,
-- I'm kinda savvy, I think?
Apparently she was asking if I liked Sauvignon Blanc. (FACT: I am an equal opportunity employer of all wines). Australian Fail #2.
We then ordered some very interesting appetizers. First, we ordered the BBQ Artichoke which was made with roasted tomatoes, edamame, chickpeas, and infused olive oil (not pictured). Additionally, we ordered Spice Dusted Calamari with lemon and rosella remoulade. I am pretty curious when it comes to new and interesting food items, so we clearly had to order the Char Grilled Kangaroo Skewers!
For my entree, I ordered the Tuna Filet with Soba Noodles, but before my meal arrived, I wanted to hop (see what I did there?) on Luca's dish, the Oven Roasted Rack of Aussie Lamb with shiraz jus and mashed potatoes. I was able to control myself since my dish came shortly after.
SOOO AMAZING! I am definitely coming back, if not for the food, then definitely for the karaoke going on downstairs! Australian Success times 100 billion dollars!
