Il Palazzo: Little Italy, Mulberry Street

Until yesterday, it had been close to 3 years since I have strolled down Mulberry Street in Little Italy.

Therefore, it was imperative that we celebrate the birthday of my mother, who is of Italian descent, in this historic neighborhood.  We dodged the bustling tourist scene and settled down in the quiet Italian restaurant, Il Palazzo.

Mom and Dad
We started off with a bottle of red wine and some complimentary bread with olive oil and garlic.

For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Cacciatore...

...while my dad ordered the Veal Parmigiana and a side of angel hair pasta.

Our food was absolutely delicious!  After our meal was over, we all ordered cappuccinos which came with a sweet rock candy treat.

After dinner, we stopped by the bakery across the street for some biscotti to take home.  The bakery had every delicious dessert imaginable, from gelato to biscotti and canolis!

As we left, I saw the weirdest shop window display.  A nativity scene behind a "Raviolamp"... say what?

We then hopped into our limo to ride back to the Upper East Side.

JUST KIDDING!

A girl can dream though, right?

Overall a delicious and fun, although rather touristy, spot.  I will definitely come again!

xoxo.
