A Taste of Maine: Luke's Lobster Review

If you have read my About Me page, you would know that I went to college at Colby in Maine for 4 freezing cold years.  I loved it, despite the fact that I was yearning to move to my favorite city the entire time I was up there.  Up in Maine, I yearned for a bustling city life, but now that I've been away from Maine for 4 years, I miss a lot of its beauty and charm.  Most importantly, I need to feed my lobster obsession!  Luckily for me, I found a taste of Maine a few blocks from my apartment, called Luke's Lobster.

They even had a doggie bowl outside so that your puppy could have a little lobstah snack :-)

On their website, Luke's Lobster claims to have "New York City's freshest, most afforable lobster roll, straight from the docks of Maine"... and boy is that the truth!  On top of their world class lobster rolls, they have a menu listing a variety of seafood options - other rolls, such as shrimp and crab, along with various chowders, side dishes, and Maine soda and microbrews!

While my boyfriend and dad noshed on lobster rolls and Maine beers (such as my favorite, Allagash), my mom and I split the lobster bisque and the Noah's Ark combo, which features mini lobster, shrimp, and crab rolls with your choice of chips and soda.

The lobster bisque!

The delicious rolls!

I washed it all down with a delicious Maine Root beer!

Overall, the food was incredibly delicious and affordable.  Since I only tried the Upper East Side location, I hope to check out their other locations in the Upper West Side, Financial District, and East Village.  Oh, and did I mention, THEY DELIVER!  whoopie!

Although not the healthiest of dining options, I know that moderation is always important, and sometimes it's nice to indulge a little with family and friends :-)
